Regatta Spotlights: Narragansett Bay
he placid summer waters of Narragansett Bay have welcomed sailors from around the world for decades. Three regattas in the Ocean State are part of CYOA’s Classic Yacht Challenge Series (CYCS). The NYYC Tiedemann Regatta, the Herreshoff Classic Yacht Regatta, and the Newport Classic Yacht Regatta presented by IYRS keep the history and heritage of Rhode Island sailing alive while providing CYCS’s trademark camaraderie and beauty.

Each month, we will spotlight two of our CYCS Events. Kicking off 2025 is two Maine events: Camden Classics Cup and Boothbay Shipyard Cup Classics.
Changes to CRF 2024 for CRF 2025
At the end of each Classic season, the CYOA Technical Committee does an in-depth review of the year’s racing, with a primary focus on how accurately CRF ratings reflected real world performance over the full range of boat sizes and types and in a variety of conditions.

Celebrating the Success of the 7th Annual Camden Classics Cup
This year’s Camden Classics Cup provided regatta participants, their friends and families, and the local community with fantastic racing that showcased the best of what these Penobscot Bay can deliver.
Black Watch leads at Castine Classic
The 24th annual Castine Classic 19.6nm race to Camden, sponsored by the Castine Yacht Club, was sailed on August 3 on Penobscot Bay.
